What is your favourite/most inspiring quote?
“Everything happens for a reason” it somewhat keeps me from going completely insane at times.
What does empowerment mean to you?
Mutual love and support.
What part of your body do you love the most?
My hair! I quite like my ears too.
What is your favourite quality about your personality?
I’d like to think I’m quite funny! Empathetic as well.
When you were growing up, can you remember becoming aware of what you looked like? Were you influenced by anything in particular?
I remember being first aware of my own appearance especially when I was around 6 or 7 – being jealous of my little sisters big blue eyes! Then insecure of my freckles and later on my weight.
What insecurities have you overcome that were previously holding you back?
Various struggles with mental health disorders made it hard to have the confidence to get into modelling, and keep it up. Not just modelling I guess… moving to London by myself when I was just 19 and earning a living. Overcoming my insecurities is an ongoing struggle and I don’t think I’ll ever feel completely 100% confident – I just try to focus on the fact I’d hate to miss out on something good because of them.
Who do you look up to and why?
My mother, because she’s had to put up with me! Haha no, she’s a strong woman who has never put herself first because of her love for her family.
What advice would you give to your 12 year old self?
LET IT GO. Don’t overthink so much, don’t stress, don’t panic. To be honest I need to listen to this advice half the time still.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Reading, sitting in the sun, seeing friends. Simple things.
What inspires you to shop consciously when buying clothes?
Quality over quantity! And no one likes to have a guilty conscience.
What advice would you like to share with other women?
Don’t be too judgemental – of yourself or of other women.
