What quote inspires you?
My favourite quote must be “Jealousy is a declaration of inferiority” by Napoleon. I also really like Einstein’s quotes. Geeky, I know!
What does empowerment mean to you?
Empowerment to me means that anyone, regardless of gender, sex or origin has received the power to do something. It’s a moral definition in my opinion, but I’m essentially an optimist and I like to believe that the world is moving towards more and more empowerment of women and those in need.
Do you have a favourite body part or feature you love the most about yourself?
My favourite part of my body? I like my eyes because they’re like my mum’s. I guess that there are days when I like my legs and some other days I don’t. I’m still working on it!
What quality about your personality do you love the most?
I’ll be honest, when I used to live in Japan I developed this thing about being very polite and grateful to people. I’m always thanking those around me, even if it’s for the smallest thing! I was amazed by seeing how grateful people are over there and was really inspired to become a better person since.
When you were growing up, can you remember becoming aware of what you looked like? Were you influenced by anything in particular?
Since I was born in 1993 I grew up with Barbies and Spice Girls. Girly as can be, but that’s what it was back then! I have always been very girly. I didn’t really mind what I looked like until I became 15-16, when the fashion blogger bubble blew up and I decided to make an effort to dress better!
What insecurities have you overcome that have held you back in the past?
I don’t have many insecurities to be honest, maybe just that I don’t like to leave the house without make up! Am I alone in this? Probably not.
Who do you look up to as role models?
I look up to my parents, who’ve worked really hard to be where they are right now. They’ve taught me the meaning of hard work and sacrifice, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
If you could give your 12 year old self some advice, what would it be?
Advice to my 12 year old self… Please don’t colour coordinate everything every single day. I used to wear all pink one day, all yellow another day… Just awful!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I am a HUGE digital marketing fan and I really love to blog, learn about e-commerce and follow fellow vegan bloggers. Oh, and I am a massive foodie who loves home-made food!
What advice would you like to share with other women?
Women, you are capable of anything you set yourself to do. Success only comes with hard work and sacrifice. And learning how to say no, too!
